Bottling up anger increases heart risk
November 26, 2009 Edition 1
SINGAPORE: Men who bottle up their anger at work are up to five times more likely to have a heart attack, than those who let their frustration show, a Swedish study has found.
The study by the Stress Research Institute of Stockholm University found that men who had simply "let things pass without saying anything", despite feelings of being hard done by, had a twofold to fivefold higher risk of developing heart disease than those who were more confrontational at work and "protesting directly". - Reuters
