Avalanche kills six

ROME: Six people have been killed by an avalanche in northern Italy.

The victims were two mountain climbers who had gone missing in the Italian Alps and four rescuers searching for them, newspaper reports said.

The two had gone missing on Saturday while climbing in northern Italy.

The bodies of the six victims were recovered yesterday.

The four rescuers were Italian. - Sapa-AP
