Plant thief's sentence

A cycad thief convicted of illegally possessing more than 268 plants worth R1 million would be sentenced today, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said.

Mr Corlett - first name unknown - was arrested in 2007, following a joint investigation by the Green Scorpions and police.

The plants found at his Joburg home had been stolen from an Mpumalanga nature reserve. - Sapa
