Museum names top 10 discoveries

LONDON: The X-ray has been named the greatest accomplishment in a Britain's Science Museum poll on the 10 greatest achievements in science, technology and engineering.

The discovery of penicillin antibiotics came second, followed by the DNA double helix, the Apollo 10 space capsule, the V2 rocket engine, Stephenson's rocket steam locomotive, the Pilot ACE early computer, the steam engine, the Model T Ford car and the electric telegraph. - Sapa-AFP
