Bulls woo Meyer
The Blue Bulls are in negotiations to bring back former Currie Cup- and Super 14-winning coach Heyneke Meyer. The Blue Bulls yesterday confirmed that their talks with Meyer were at an advanced stage. The Blue Bulls said that Meyer would not be returning to replace incumbent coach Frans Ludeke, but would rather assume a role as a director of coaching and would not only be in charge of the senior side but would have a role overlooking all rugby matters within the union stretching as far as Limpopo. - Vata Ngobeni
Broad in doubt
Stuart Broad's participation in England's Twenty20 international against South Africa on Friday is in doubt after the 23-year-old suffered an injury to his right shoulder.

Djokovic triumphs

Italy rampant
REGGIO CALABRIA: Italy surged to their second tennis Fed Cup title by destroying the US 4-0 in the final yesterday. Flavia Pennetta charged past Melanie Oudin 7-5 6-2 in the third singles rubber to give an unassailable 3-0 lead to the hosts. The fourth singles match between Schiavone and Glatch was scrapped with Italy already having triumphed, leaving Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci to entertain the fans with victory over Vania King and Liezel Huber in the doubles. Italy had never beaten the Americans in nine previous Fed Cup ties. - Reuters
