JFK's 'nude cruise' - while Jackie gave birth

December 29, 2009 Edition 2

NEW YORK: A photograph allegedly showing a young John F Kennedy sunbathing on a yacht among four naked women has been discovered, says celebrity website TMZ.

The black-and-white photograph, severely creased, shows a young and tanned JFK relaxing aboard a yacht. Two nude women are lounging above him, while another climbs a ladder back on to the boat. Another naked woman is jumping, hands raised, into the water.

TMZ, which broke the news of Michael Jackson's death, insists the picture is authentic.

The website says it has had numerous experts examine the picture, and all are convinced it is not faked or altered.

If the photo had turned up 50 years earlier, and assuming it is not a fake, it might have changed history - hurting Kennedy's chances of running for the White House.

"The original print... was scanned and examined for evidence of inconsistent lighting, photo composition and other forms of manipulation.

"The experts all concluded the photo appears authentic," TMZ said.

The photo was allegedly taken during a two-week sailing trip in the Mediterranean that JFK, then a senator, took with his brother Ted.

At the time, JFK's wife, Jackie, was in hospital giving birth.

According to TMZ, the picture was owned by a man on the US East Coast, who liked to brag he had a photo of Kennedy with naked women on a boat.

The man's son, who inherited the photo when its owner died 10 years ago, had only recently discovered it. - Sapa-dpa
